I'm curious... Has the teaching that suicide ensures that the person has no chance of being resurrected? I' curious if anything has been printed

Humans used a hearth for fire and cooking 300,000 years ago!
by Comatose inhttp://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/01/140127101236.htm.
summary:.
when did humans really begin to control fire and use it for their daily needs?

Learning to cook food was a huge step towards elevating our ancestors.
Tight animal skin pants haha
None of those questions matter to a JW or any creationist for that matter. Unfortunately, evidence and fascinating facts are meaningless to someone who would rather bury his head in the sand. The JW would immediately call to question the dating methods, claiming it was just an early indigenous people maybe a couple thousand years ago. Anything to rationalize it and make the cog dis go away.
Thanks for the good info!

Why Is Alcoholism Deeply Embeded In JW Culture?
by RottenRiley inwe get plenty of company men passing through our circuit, often filled with misinformation and lugging around a suitcase of guilt, they bring more guilt to the weak while praising the braggart pioneers and slapping the "righteous over much" elders.
why are the wrong people getting praise in this distorted community?
i know for a fact many of the elders i served with have issues with alcoholism, when "brother guilt" brought his emotional hurricane through our circuit, i had the chance to eat and help pay for his "seven shots of tequila", both him and his wife were not immune to over-indulgences.

Also depends on the company. My JW guests are always all too happy to indulge in my scotch collection... Partly because most couldn't afford it and partly because they know I won't be offended by their glassy-eyed rosy cheeked shenanigans.

JW.org to be banned in Russia
by redvip2000 inmy facebook was "lit up" today with all the out cries about the possibility of the organization's website being banned in russia.. as many of you recall this past august a court in russia banned the website and sought to make accessing the website in russia illegal.
well tomorrow the appeal by the org will be heard in court.
if the appeal is denied, jw.org will no longer be available in that part of the world, causing endless lamentations and cries of "persecution", only to bolster the idea that they are truly hated by the world because they are true christians.

Yep. While it's good that Russians won't be lining up to join, this has come as a result of a much larger initiative by Putin to gain control.
Censorship = always bad

Noah - the Movie
by Simon Morley inwent to the movie theatre over the weekend to take in jack ryan (not bad) and saw the trailer for "noah" (russell crowe and a solid cast) whats the bet the dubs will be given a rule encouraged to examine their own consciences when attending this movie.
from what i hear its fairly true to the genesis account, but hey its hollywood with cgi at their disposal.. .
my guess is they will not be allowed to go until the gb 2.0 attend a screening at loews cineplex, grab some popcorn and pop and give it their blessing..

nonononoNonONONONONONONKNO!!
Unless it is to be presented alongside a list of myths of other cultures. But to be offered as a possible explanation of how the world came to be or an "alternative" to reality, NO. This discussion should have been over before it started.

Could you imagine Anonymous targeting the WT ?
by cookiemaster inthey have picked on cults before.
they basically went to warfare with the church of scientology, so what would happen if they would pick on the wt ?
let's say they would release to the public of lot of secret documents that discredit them, or at least attack the jw.org website.

They want notiriety, and the fact that most people don't care about JWs makes them a small target. They'd rather be able to break the public's faith in an organization they trust, rather than an organization most people already think is a cult.

Something I Never Understood: Inactive or Disfellowshipped People Shunning Others That Were Disfellowshipped!
by minimus ini don't know if you experienced this before, but i was always wondering why inactive or df'd jws look down upon others, even not acknowledging their fellow sinners.. any thoughts??
?.

Lots of DFed people shun anyone associated with JWs. Some just are mostly alone, feeling it is their punishment. My mom won't speak to me because she's DFed and thinks I'm a believer. If she knew I wasn't a believer, she still wouldn't talk to me.
I can't imagine what that must feel like. To have all of the cult fears and phobias and actually believe that gawd is gonna end the world any minute now, and you with it. All because you disobeyed some old men's rules. Disgusting.
